Always-On High-Speed Internet Service

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where is your service available?

We currently offer service in Kooskia, Kamiah, Harpster, Stites, Orofino, Ahsahka, Peck and Pierce. See our Services page for coverage maps.

2. Is your service Symmetrical or Asymmetrical?

The service is Symmetrical - downstream and upstream speeds are the same.

3. We live in a heavily wooded subdivision. Will your signal be able to penetrate the trees?

Every situation is unique, and each site will be tested free-of-charge to ensure there is adequate signal strength before installation.

4. How does your service compare to my current dial-up service?

First of all, no phone line is needed. The system will be entirely wireless - WiFi 802.11b is what it's called. For the monthly fee charged, you will receive your internet connection and your email (2 addresses included).

There will not be a need to have a separate ISP or to keep the one you currently have.

If you currently have a second phone line and an ISP, you're in "the zone" where what you're paying now (per month) is approximately what our always-on QRO High-Speed Internet of Idaho service will cost.

Click Services to see our package pricing, what's included, and options.

5. What are the speeds of QRO High-Speed Internet of Idaho vs. dialup/DSL, cable modem, satellite, etc.

Even our least-expensive option of symmetrical 256Kbps (The Explorer Package) will be approximately 10 to 20 times faster than dial-up (compared to a 28.8Kbps dial-up connection, which all the DSL and Cable Modem providers compare against).

6. Does your network support VPN connections?

VPN connections are supported.

7. The monthly prices are the right price point for me. What are the start-up costs?

Please click Services to view a description of services and pricing.

8. Do you provide static IP addresses?

QRO High-Speed Internet of Idaho utilizes DHCP. Static IP addresses are an extra option. A static IP address costs an additional $15 a month.

9. Are you hiring?

Not at this time, but keep an eye on our website for updates.

10. Do you allow peer-to-peer programs?

We do not allow any type of peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing programs on our systems. These programs disrupt our network, which affects all customers on our network. Examples include: BitTorrent, LimeWire, Shareaza, Kazaa, iMesh, BearShare, eMule, KCeasy, Ares Galaxy, Soulseek, WinMX, Piolet, Gnutella, Overnet, Azureus (Vuze), FrostWire, uTorrent, Morpheus, ANts, Acquisition. (This list is not all-inclusive, but just a sampling of the most common P2P programs used.) Use of these types of programs may result in your service being disconnected until they are uninstalled from your network.

11. What if we cannot currently get your service?

QRO High-Speed Internet of Idaho is constantly expanding our network. We are always looking for new coverage areas, so keep watching our web site or give us a call at (208) 926-4689 or (877) 394-8828. Ask for Beth.
